That's a good point. The 2nd last leg is always a non-elim but if they take away the last team's money, they basically make it a 2 team race to win the million. I'm sure they must make an exception for the final 2 legs. TPTB wouldn't be that dumb. Maybe they consider it just one leg split into 2 parts.
Speak for yourself! Some of us wouldn't have minded watching Colin get all sweaty as he pulled those big-ass stones.
Yeah, but it was a plus for the viewer - we didn't have to see Colin attempt the tasks!

I'm for consequenses as well - but I'd rather the team be left with a fighting chance. Either take away their saved up money or don't give them money the next leg. (I'd actually rather they not give them money the next leg then punishing them for saving up money, but that's me.) Just don't do both. I know the reasons for the non-elim are because they need X number of shows, but leaving a team that gimpy for the next leg? Makes it even worse to me. Although, if any of these teams can handle this without being ultra annoying, it's the moms. So, go moms!
Not saying anything about stones. Nope. Not me.

Re: 5.5 "Are You Good at Puzzles?"
My son just got into watching TAR two seasons ago and after watching seasons 6 and 7, we moved back to 5 this weekend and just finished this episode.
I really do miss all the jockeying at the airport that used to go on, allowing for big leads, teams to disappear, and all that. Also, the older episodes seem to have more of the part of a leg in one country with the first or second clue be the "fly yourself to" direction. Miss that. Mix in an awesome location (walking around the Pyramids close enough to touch them? Wow!) with cool tasks (descending into a pyramid? riding horses across the desert) and a great episode in my opinion. Only real criticism was the fact that the Detour was a non-issue since one closed at 5:30 and left people no choice but to do the sleds.
And I love the episodes where one team essentially messes with status quo and probably makes TPTB freak out. Didn't Colin end up knowing some sort of travel agent phrase to get them on the earlier flight? I will need to see if I can dig that up somewhere.
Anyway, great rewatching these with my kids. They love talking about which task they'd do and if they'd do the Roadblock (tasting chocolates in South America) or if I would (eating the caviar).
